Y1 plants

In Year 1 science, the children have been exploring the fascinating world of plants. They have learned about the different parts of plants and flowers, as well as the differences between wildflowers and planted flowers as well as different types of trees. Through observation and discussion, they have also begun to understand how trees change throughout the seasons, including the blossoms they produce and the fruits that grow from them.
To bring their learning to life, the children took part in sensory flower walks as part of their homework, using their senses to closely observe the natural environment around them. In class, they also expressed their understanding creatively by making fun, abstract tree artwork, helping to connect their scientific knowledge with their artistic skills.
