Ending of the academic year for Holy Mary students in KS4-KS5

Students in KS4 and KS5 (Years 10-13) have had access to school laptops during the recent quarantine. The school has been successfully utilising its learning management system (Google Classroom) and live video lessons to maintain its provision through timetabled lessons. These lessons have ensured that the students’ preparation for their exams has continued during this challenging time.

Due to the unprecedented circumstances surrounding COVID-19, the students will be awarded IGCSE and AS/A Level certification based on predicted grades made in collaboration with our exam boards, Edexcel and Cambridge International Examinations. To inform these predictions, the students have sat online examinations, administered and invigilated remotely using software designed to control and monitor the school’s devices. This approach has allowed the school to maintain an excellent standard of education whilst ensuring we have accurate and valuable evidence to support our students’ grade predictions.

Whilst it has clearly been a challenging time for parents, students and teachers, the opportunity to learn and develop new skills has ensured that the school, its staff ,and its students are well equipped to blend both online and traditional learning moving forward.
