Gredos: Year 10 Geography fieldwork

The Year 10 geographers embarked on an exciting adventure to the breathtaking Sierra de Gredos for a hands-on exploration of geographical fieldwork skills. Amidst the stunning scenery, they investigated footpath erosion along the iconic ‘plataforma’ route and examined the dynamic characteristics of a river at various points along its course. Equipped with curiosity and enthusiasm, our students dived into the waters (quite literally, wearing waders!) to measure variables such as sediment size, water velocity, gradient, and channel depth. Their hands-on approach not only enhanced their understanding but also sparked their passion for geographical investigation. Despite a minor scheduling clash with the thrilling Champions League match between Manchester City and Real Madrid, our resilient students didn’t miss out! They experienced the highs and lows of the game together, which added an unexpected twist to an already enjoyable trip.
