This year, over 50,000 students from more than 500 schools participated in the first phase of the competition! The competition is split into fours levels:
- Level 1 : Year 6 and 7
- Level 2 : Year 8 and 9
- Level 3 : Year 10 and 11
- Level 4 : Year 12 and 13
Each school can then take their top three students from each level along to the second phase to be organised at the Complutense University. In total there were almost 4,000 students in the second phase. Representing Holy Mary this year we had:
- Level 1 : Javier F.S. (Y6), Carlos R.LP. (Y7), Pablo M.M. (Y7)
- Level 2 : Vicente C.R. (Y8), Álvaro F.S. (Y9), Sofía M.G. (Y9)
- Level 3 : Isabel G.E. (Y10), María M.U. (Y10), Ignacio B.M. (Y10)
- Level 4 : Eduardo S.S. (Y12), Lucas H.L. (Y12), David R.R. (Y13)
We are proud of all of our students who took time out of their Saturday morning to represent the school in such a challenging competition, and this year we are happy to announce that Pablo M. and David R. both finished in the top 25 of their levels and achieved awards and prizes!
An extra special mention for David for his help with organising the lunchtime maths club for our years 6 to 11 pupils. His mentorship was invaluable for all of our candidates.
