This term in art the children have been focussing on portraits. Having drawn self portraits, made collage portraits and painted portraits of each other they then looked at photographic portraits depicting different emotions. The children used pastel colours over the top of the photographs in order to enhance the impression of the emotion which the photograph was showing. After that they all tried observational portrait drawing by copying the image that they had used to create their colour/emotion portrait.
