In Science lessons in Year 4, we are studying human nutrition, specifically the digestive system. This week, we have identified where the digestive process starts: the mouth. The children were given soft modelling clay (we ran out of pink and white plasticine- so we had to be creative) and were asked to create a 3D model of what they think their own teeth are like. They then had to model their own teeth (both bottom and top jaws). When creating the models they were asked to think about these questions: How many teeth do you have? What shape are they? e.g. sharp, chiselled, flat, bumpy, spiky, thin, solid, strong, ridged, etc. Here are some of the models created.
