Our Year 12 A level students attempted to measure the acceleration due to gravity (g) of an object falling freely from a range of different heights. They measured the time taken for the object to fall using some very sophisticated apparatus including a trap door time mechanism! The data is then collected and a graph is drawn, and by calculating the gradient a value for “g” can be calculated.
