In November 2019 a group of our Year 12 & 13 students from selected subject areas – including the sciences, geography and French – travelled to Geneva in Switzerland. On the first day they visited the largest and longest running scientific experiment in the world at the CERN particle accelerator installation! On the second day they toured the United Nations Headquarters. At the UN HQ our students participated in a unique forum with members of the UN team which is investigating extreme poverty, and they received a presentation from the World Meteorological Organisation. Our senior students also mentioned eating lots of chocolate and fondue, and visiting the beautiful sites of old Geneva including the 12th century gothic Cathedral!
