Year 6 children have been studying the topic of Evolution and Inheritance in science lessons. This week we learnt that when an organism (living thing) reproduces it passes on its genetic traits to its offspring. An individual has two parents and the individual inherits traits from both. This process is called heredity. We also learnt that it is possible to cross two species with one another in order to create a hybrid that has traits from both species.
