On Friday 17th of March, to celebrate St Patrick’s day, the Holy Mary PE department ran a Gaelic Games Day at Zona Norte to practice the two most popular sports played in Ireland; Gaelic Football and Hurling. We were delighted to host teams from ISM, Dallington and Montessori la Florida schools.
The day consisted of some workshops to teach the main skills of the sports, a Hurling ‘Poc Fada’ competition and a very competitive Gaelic Football tournament to finish. It was our heroic Holy Mary team that came out on top to win all three of their Gaelic Football games.
A special mention needs to go to the individual award winners on the day; Claudia G. (sportsperson) and Javier A. (Poc Fada Champion).
A huge congratulations to all the students who participated and to Mr Breathnach who volunteered to coach and share his Hurling expertise with the students.
