Holy Mary is blessed to have a parent – Patricia Varela – who works at the UN headquarters in Geneva. Patricia works within the section of the UN which attempts to monitor extreme poverty in countries across the globe. She outlined the structure of her work and its place in the world’s response to the Declaration of Human Rights. Her presentation on the morning of Friday 8th November to our Yr 12 and Yr 13 pupils was excellent! The timing of the presentation was also excellent as we have seventeen of our Yr 12 and Yr 13 pupils who will travel to Geneva later this month to visit Cern (the particle accelerator) and the UN headquarters.
