Winter Secondary Sports Day

Holy Mary Secondary students were delighted to see some light at the end of the COVID restrictions tunnel at the end of 2021 by hosting our Secondary Sports Day.

The event was held at Dehesa Boyal Sports Centre where we had 3 large playing areas to enjoy for the whole day.  The event was divided into 3 activities, one outdoor area for Tchouckball, another outdoor area for Football, and a 3rd indoor area for basketball.

We used the House system that is in operation at Holy Mary to determine the teams, and the games were played with a mix of boys and girls from those houses in the same teams. This helped to create an even more competitive and fun atmosphere! The teachers were overwhelmed by the amazing displays of sportsmanship, teamwork and respect that were displayed by all the teams and year groups.

In the end, someone had to win…

Magnanimous and Concordia both received bronze medals with the same amount of points in third place, while Virtus came in second. However, out in the lead at the end were Audax, who proudly walked up to receive their gold medals and bragging rights until the summer sports day!

A huge thank you has to go out to all the staff who pitched in as referees and organisers on the day. But the biggest thank you and well done has to go to our amazing students who made the day such a fun-filled and memorable occasion.
