On March 9th the Year 10 and Year 11 Geography students went on a geography field trip to the Sierra de Gredos to aid their preparation for their IGCSEs. On the menu for the first day was Ávila. Here the students carried out some human geography data collection techniques, investigating the CBD of Ávila and its sphere of influence. After the fieldwork the students had some free time to explore the city before traveling onto the Gredos centre. The second day was spent investigating the Tormes river, where the students separated into smaller groups to perform various river cross sections throughout the day. The students thoroughly enjoyed the day, especially the practical element like having to put on waders to stand in the river. The final day due to the poor weather was spent in the classroom analysing the data collected from the river the previous day, before traveling back to Madrid.
